Why your name, address and phone must match everywhere, and which listings to check first.
NAP is your business Name, Address and Phone number. When these appear on directories, maps and social profiles, they are called citations. Matching details help Google and customers trust that the listing is accurate.
Decide the exact format once, for example the full street, area, city and PIN code, and the same phone number, and use it everywhere. Small differences such as an old number or a missing door number cause confusion.
Start with Google Business Profile, then Bing Places, Apple Business Connect, Justdial, Sulekha, IndiaMART for B2B, and any directory specific to your industry. Fix existing listings before creating new ones.
Two listings for the same address split reviews and confuse customers. If you find a duplicate, ask the directory to merge or remove it rather than leaving both live.
Your website's contact page and footer should show the same details, so anyone comparing listings sees one consistent business. See our own business listing details as an example.
Not on their own. A few accurate, relevant listings help more than many low-quality ones.
Update Google Business Profile first, then every directory and your website, and remove the old address everywhere.
